Fc Cartagena and Lucena refuse to play during an in-game protest over unpaid wages

There was an eye-catching protest in the lower leagues in Spain last weekend.

Cartagena recently took on Lucena in the third tier of Spanish football, however the match began with a false-start due to an in-game protest.

Neither players from either side have been paid for months this season, so when the referee blew his whistle to start the match, both teams protested.

The Lucena players all fell to their knees on the ground, while the Cartagena team stood together in a line.

After twenty-two seconds, the match finally got underway, with Cartagena ultimately winning the match 1-0.
