£64 a ticket, but without fans football is not worth a penny!
Angry Bayern Munich fans boycotted the first five minutes of their Champions League game with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night (20th October) in protest at the extraordinary £64 cost of a single ticket. The hundreds of Bayern supporters, many whom had travelled all the way from Germany for the game, were upset at the excessive price they had to pay to watch their team play in London.
They refused to take their seats for the first five minutes of the game leaving a section of the stadium empty at kick off, and then proceeded to unfurl a banner expressing their anger at Arsenal management’s ticket pricing. By comparison a season ticket for Bayern starts at just £104 (second lowest in the Bundesliga).
All away fans who entered the stadium after the first five minutes were warmly applauded by the Arsenal crowd.
