Non league football summed up in one tweet. Massive amount of respect to Sporting Khalsa

Big FA Cup weekend. It’s no exaggeration to say this saturday’s game for Enfield is one of the most important in their history. Already they’ve had their most successful cup run and beating Chesham would take them into the FA Cup competition proper. It’s an away match but there’s bound to be a heavy contingent of Ultras willing to make the trip to Buckinghamshire.

FCUM put the BBC in their place over this fixture [background here]. Basically some gormless overpaid TV executive wanted to trial out a new ‘sports format’ and turn this match into a game show with cameras intruding in on players before, during and after the match. Looks like some bright spark on a six figure salary who has never been to a football match in his life thinks what football needs is a dizzy celebrity presenter prattling on about their own ego. We’ve got Gary Lineker for that. Fair play to Sporting Khalsa for backing the reds, another club with a solid set of principles.

Fisher aren’t playing this weekend, in fact haven’t got a match until 31st October, a home cup match against Greenwich Borough.
